I do like the concept Alot , and find that if it were to run with adequate speed (relevant to machine ofc) aaaand most importantly if it were stable, then yes i would buy the software.
As of now, i will wait and see how it develops.

I BOUGHT (yes really..) the Beta which is running o a Mac Pro Quad with 4Gb RAM, system 10.5.8. It works great! Stable and rather normal speed. There are some bugs but it just works nice.
My bugs..out of the head, sitting on the couch with wife's macbook:
- Cmnd-Q is NOT quitting the app...duh big deal but it's a bug.
- loading panel options is slow
- sometimes paneloption windows stay in the screen even when switiching to another app.
More to come...i guess but I like it so far.

It dosnt seem that slow on my mac. Maybe thats because I mostly use the windows version though. Its really not that bad though!

Just downloaded the OS X beta and kudos on getting this up and running under MONO on the Mac. While MONO is not optimal for cross platform, it's better than trying to create and support a whole range of native binaries for multiple platforms or, keeping it locked to Windows.
This will be a great alternative to the template clubs where you need something not over-baked with features while still wanting to create a good looking site.

The last version 3.1 ...too many Crash ... And also too slow ( Imac i7 3.4 Ghz , 8 GO and SSD ) .... this situation isn't acceptable

Make a native mac app, will be running faster than a wrapped windows exe in mono.
Artisteer is mega slow on a mac and i think that you will maybe lose some of the mac user as customers..

I have used Artisteer for the past two years. The current 3.1 version is DIRE slow on my Mac Pro .... Crashes too. For Example ... changing background images or textures takes minutes ....
Can the older 3.0 versions make 2.5 templates because it was faster ?

This product is one of the best applications I have ever purchased! HOWEVER, on a late 2010 MacBook Pro with 2.53Ghz, 4GB RAM, it runs painfully SLOW. Perfect in Windows but I use a MAc 99% of the time.
I understand these performance issues are related to processing every command twice via MONO but god it's painful.
Artisteer Team: Please don't make me use my old XP box, please! I want to use it on my Mac. Just an amazing product, would be perfect if ran as fast on OSX.

As a mac user, it is a bit frustrating to purchase a product that doesn't function effectively. However, I have no doubt this is something the Artisteer team is working to solve. Makes sense that it would take a bit of time to get it right when the product was originally built for Windows. I know it's hard, but let's (as mac users) try to exercise a little more patience.
Perhaps Artisteer would like to offer free (or discounted) upgrades upon the next mac release to cut the tension? Just an idea, though unlikely.
Look forward to a working product. This concept is truly wonderful.

I considered buying the MAc-version, but using the trial version I discovered it is soooo slow......... They should be ashamed they are asking the full price for a program that works on less then half speed. Is it possible to switch between the Mac and Windows version?

Latest Mac version takes 5 minutes to open on my iMac 24" Core2-Duo 4GB Ram. Other resource intensive Apps (e.g. Second Life and DAZ3D Studio) Have no trouble loading. Definitely a problem with this release. I paid for the upgrade and am disappointed as it is unusable.

I have found that version 3.1.0.55575 Mac has fixed all the crashes for me. It is very slow however but at least the crashed are gone.
I am using Mac OSX 10.6.8
The only big I am experiencing with 3.1.0.55575 Mac is the inability to export a template.

Did you try exporting from: Ideas menu item -> Export or Ctrl+ E keyboard shortcut.

I have a Mac Pro, 16GB 10.7.3
Artisteer 3.1.0.55575
Runs SO SLOW. About 20 seconds to start up, and it takes a good 15 - 30 seconds each time I make a change to the template. It is not crashing like prior versions, but the lag time is costing me time. I hope this can be fixed asap.

Artisteer is to efficiently work on Mac too slow, I have a direct comparison, I have my version Parall on a Boot Camp Windows 7 Installation instaled. Artisteer is otherwise very good, and to use, As I said, but not on Mac OS, most direct at the current time.
I use Artisteer with Mac OS X:

I have the same issues sadly. I bought the home version based on past experience with an older demo version on my mac and as far as I could remember it was quite ok then.
But the 3.1.x version is quite slow. drop down panels with backgrounds for instance. Sometimes they don't show up at all. Other times very late after clicking with the mouse. I finally wanted to start using it, but with this performance it is not very usable on the mac.
I will try parallels desktop virtual machine to see if that helps, but otherwise I think I made a mistake in buying if the performance does not go up.

Software is way too slow and unstable. Dont even release it if it cant do the job right !!! This is like buying a brend new car with lot of rattles. I would suggest to make a native mac application.
PS: Add the possibility to set title color as we like!

I have both windows and mac and have tried both versions and of course the windows version is the better of the 2 at them moment. My suggestion is for Mac users is to download an app called Parallels which will allow you to download the windows version and run it in coherence mode on your mac making it seamless;) just a thought:))

Hello,
I too have used Artisteer on a Mac and I can confirm that if you boot the app and start work on a template without immediately saving it is almost unusably slow.
The solution I found was to start the app, then save my template straight away, I found the app to be responsive and workable after that.
