If you have a 2 column skin (say contentpane and right pane) and you use the right pane on the home page for a login box its fine.
say on another page in your site you just want the whole page to be pure content and no side pane. in the case of artisteer skins the sidepane width is set so it remains a blank column and looks less than perfect.
Suggestion: could you please adjust your skin so that any side panes that dont have any content colapse and allow content panes to overtake.
i understand a temporary fix is to use the bottom pane but that doesnt work for admin objects etc and other objects that are set in a pane called "contentpane" and cannot be moved
