I seem to have a little problem when uploading a Wordpress site. The Header text shows in the upload but when I activate the site the Header text is completely missing - it is showing the standard "My Blog" just another wordpress weblog.

I've deleted it and zipped the files again and uploaded with the same results. Can someone please help me with this.

I've uploaded sites before and never had an issue until this upgrade.

Warmly,
Caroline

Hi Caroline,

You change the contents of the Blog Title and Tag Line in your Wordpress admin. It is located under 'Settings' >> 'General'.

:-) Thank you so much Dave, that was so silly.

This will work as a work around for the moment. The font is not the same as in the original design.

When I uploaded a previous site the text and font that I used in the template were uploaded as well and I didn't have to tweak it in the settings panel. It was almost like it was embedded in the header.

If you have any suggestions as to how to change the font to the one used in the template that would be wonderful.

Have a wonderful evening and thank you for your response.

Warmly,
Caroline.

All computers doesn't have all the fonts installed and a computer converts a font to default if it doesn't find it installed. In your case the font you used in your blog title and tagline seems not to be installed on the computer.

Hi Garry,

Thank you for your input, it is appreciated. However the font that is used on the template header is installed on my computer.

When I upload the template to the Themes folder in Wordpress under Current Theme (preview) it shows the font exactly as designed. However when I activate the template it is completely missing.

I have deleted the template from the Themes folder - tweaked it again in Artisteer, zipped the files and uploaded again with the same results - missing Header font with the title of the Blog.

Dave reminded me to change the Blog title in the Settings panel, which is a work around just now. However, when I do this it puts the name of the Blog on the page - but not the designed font.

I hope this is making sense. I've made a couple of screen shots - but for some reason can't figure out how to get them uploaded here.

I'm a little concerned as I have 3 more sites that are designed in Artisteer to upload and I'm a little hesitant as I don't want to run into the same issues with these 3.

I'm wondering if this is an issue with the current version of Artisteer that needs to be addressed as the previous site that I launched was perfect - the complete design uploaded and activated beautifully without any issues at all.

In the meantime - I've been browsing the code to try and find the Header text so that I can do this manually - but I seem unable to find it.

I appreciate any input and help anyone can offer.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Warmly,
Caroline.

Hi Caroline,

The Blog title and slogan being entered into the admin of WP is not a workaround that is where you change it. The fonts problem is a totally different issue.

The fonts are controlled by CSS not in the PHP files.
( And can also be edited in your admin ! )

If you see the CODES toolbar above where you enter these messages the last one is where you enter a link to an image.

Also why not just give us the URL where we can see the actual web site.

cheers Dave

Are you using Artisteer 2.3

Hi Dave and Garry,

This is the link to the site - created for someone else http://www.soul-print.com/. The font that I used was Cityscape.

Please note that nobody has touched the admin panel except to add the Blog Name. This is what was uploaded - which is really quite different in appearance - fonts and all.

Yes Garry, I was using the latest version of Artisteer 2.3.

I just wanted to say that the CSS didn't change in the first site that I uploaded. and I'm wondering why it has done so now. I can go in and manually fix this now in the CSS.

Thank you for all your help.

Warmly,
Caroline.

I'm feeling really silly now - I use primarily Firefox as my Browser.

The font is showing beautifully in IE but not in Firefox or Safari. So anyone using IE will see the way it is supposed to be.

If you have any suggestions on how to fix it in these browsers that would be wonderful.

Thank you for your patience.

Warmly,
Caroline.

In Firefox under "Tools, Options, Content" Then click the "Advanced" tab and towards the bottom of the tab is "Allow pages to choose their own fonts". That should do it.

Hi Caroline,

You cannot expect that all FireFox browsers will be setup to render the font.

If you have a graphics program, another option would be to create a custom header as a graphic file, upload this with the text (font) overlayed and saved as a png, then no matter what browser the rendering will be ok.

I am having a similar issue with the title and description. I did the upgrade to the current version (2.3.0.21098) but the title and description I enter in Artisteer is disappearing once the template is uploaded and the title and description in the site admin is different.

Any advice?

Hi Matt,

When you are developing your site locally in Artisteer, the title and the tag-line you see are just placeholders. The actual values for these two fields are maintained in your WP admin area under Settings >> General.
