You are using Google Translator which has such problems with many websites. For example when translating WSJ.com the menu is damaged too:
http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=en&tl=es&u=http://online.wsj.com/home-page

While translating Yahoo.com has all kinds of problems:
http://www.yahoo.com/

Don't use such translator or contact Google for help.

I to have the same problem with Google translator and the Top Menu.
I have been working on it now for 2 days and really getting nowhere. The reason that I am keep trying is that I really like the template:wss_sofa02_vj1_5
I have tested with standard Joomla 1.5 templates beez and rhuk_milkyway which do not give the problem and also Yahoo and AltaVista work fine. Unfortunately it's the English to Maltese translator that I need and it's only available with Google.I can also say that this problem only affects the horizontal menu .
I have also tested with another menu module mod_slidemenu and this has no problem but is nowhere as nice as the main template setup.
My website that I'm setting up for a charity is http://paws.org.mt
If anyone can see any fix then I would be very greatful as would the charity

Thanks Fred

Thanks Garry - yes I looked at that one as well. I have now closed the ticket with Artisteer as I agree that there is nothing further that they can do apart from blame Google.
I have however discovered that the root cause of the Google translation problem (apart from Google of course) is the your web building software uses the Trans style menu which maybe pretty outdated now and which has a poor history with Joomla as well.
I am replacing the Joomla module in the User 3 position with com_swmenufree5.2_J1.5.
The Trans option gives the normal Artisteer problem but the mygosu option works great - no Google problems.
Although the Artisteer website building software is great it is obvious now that as time moves on some of the componant features may become outdated or at least be surpassed by better modules and features
