Dreamweaver Can't Load One Of These Templates

I recently started using this program for simple template creation for Wordpress, but I wanted to use it for more. I started using it for normal HTML templates. Well, I'm a visual person, I always have been. So I figured I would use my favorite program, Adobe Dreamweaver CS3, to open it, but when I try to open the HTML template (NO, not the Drupal, Joomla!, or Wordpress versions), Dreamweaver freezes up and eventually I must kill the process.

Any idea for a fix? No, don't even say it's Dreamweaver's fault, it's the way these templates are made.

There is an answer to this question in the Docs & FAQ section.

I see this question quite often in the forums. We are barely on the verge of cross browser compatibility and the internet has been around for 30 years. Cross software compatibility may never be an option. It's no one's fault. They are just 2 different design programs.

Most of WYSIWYG editors use absolute positioning while Artisteer does not, so can't see all of Artisteer generated templates perfectly in WYSIWYG editors. Latest Artsiteer export page.html for website templates if you wanna try to open it with some WYSIWYG editor.

Hi Garry,
accepts the fact!!
Dreamweaver has a various bugs to read css created by other software. It is absurd, i know...for what it costs. I suggest you to use other software like:
webuilder 2008 (textual editor)
kompozer (wysiwyg free)
coffeecup (wysiwyg)
visual web developer express edition (wysiwyg free)

An italian webmaster (wow, what a signature) :)

Dui76, Awesome post I appreciate that, I downloaded the WOW, Unreal, I downloaded the 'KompoZer' software. I can't believe how easy it is and fast it is to edit the page, totally awesome, so glad I came up here and Thanks dui76 for your post on the subject

If you had to choose which (free) software is the best in your humble opinion, which would you pick?
