I don't get this?, Artisteer is for generating templates...

What you do them with them is up to you, be it shopping carts, blogs, cms's etc....

cheers Dave

There's a huge difference between Joomla, Wordpess, Drupal and Magento. The fact that the latter is an ecommerce solution would be the biggest difference.
I agree with the fact these can be combined either way IF YOU HAVE THE KNOW-HOW!!!!! But you must remember, just because you may know how, doesn't mean everyone else in the world does. Artisteer is designed to make life easier for those people and for established designers alike.

In my opinion, Artisteer should take on as many open source applications as possible.

Hi Danno,

I understand where you are coming from but I can guarantee you one thing.

If Artisteer starts to add support for all the other CMS's, Blogging engines and e-commerce applications that people are requesting the program will become bloat-ware, full of bugs and start to get a bad reputation. You would need a team of dozens of programmers to do it properly...

The only way I would see this succeeding is if it became open source and had a plug-in facility so other programmers could write add ons to allow exporting for other programs...

Regards, Dave Porter

I totally agree with Dave Porter, let this not become bloatware. Drupal, Wordpress and Joomla are fine by me. Have you all ever heard of "Keep it Short and Simple"?

In case you haven't noticed, Artisteer's help / precense on these forums is close to non exisitant. What will happen when they make the software to export for 10 new platforms? Don't get me wrong, I absolutly love the product and will be launcing a membership theme site soon based on my Artisteer designed themes. However, less is more in this case.

There are plenty of shopping cart plugins for Joomla, WordPress and Drupal. Do your research, I think you will be happy with all the options available for the currently supported platforms from Artisteer.

well if artisteer can focus only on 2 or 3 tops ones they will be able to capture more service provider/customer for their product. they can also have ecomm-package only, cms package only or the PRO (cms+ecomm) package.
- joomla
- wordpress
- drupal
- magento
- zencart

I think Artisteer should make a magic wand that does all things for all platforms.

I want it to be able to anticipate whatever code hacks and tweaks I am going to do, and I want it to then be bug free, run fast on my $300 dell with 500MB of ram, and make me toast.

BTW I am using Windows ME on a modem. I want it to be fast on that too.

And while I am at it, I would like it to make all my content for me too, take pictures and suggest niche sites that are profitable while I am on a boat in the Caribbean! And do SEO!

K Thanks!

I would love to see prestashop too... or maybe the ability to purchase addons for the CMS/e-commerce systems you need if you want to extend Artisteer.

do we know how far along this is. i've been looking at magento for a while now, just haven't implemented it cos i want it to look like the sites i'm adding it to, and i'm not confident enough in editing magento themes.

i use joomla with artisteer templates mostly, i don't want to be forking out for bridge products between joomla and magento and this would be a great way of combatting that, i'm sure other users are thinking similarily.
