I have just bought Artisteer and although my site looks great in FF, it looks rubbish in IE as the page loads in a wierd way - the sides of the white area seem to load last. My client is not going to be impressed. Have you got any advice or suggestions to stop this from happening?

However, you and others may be happy to know that I've discovered something that may help in the interim and that is using IE <meta> page transitions.
The following meta statements need to be added to header.php before any other scripts are called. It is easiest to put them just under the DOCTYPE
<meta http-equiv="Site-Enter" content="blendTrans(Duration=2.0)">
<meta http-equiv="Page-Enter" content="blendTrans(Duration=.5)">
Tweak the times to suit your template and the average bandwidth of the user base.

Thanks, but I have tried that, and the transition looks as ugly as the wierd page load. Do all Artisteer websites load in this way when using IE? What is causing it and is there a work round?

Depending on the complexity of the elements, such as rounded corners, shadows, backrouds, etc, IE has difficulty with templates (not just Artisteer ones).
Most templates that load quickly do not have a large amount of graphical content, but IE definitely has rendering issues with many things, not just Wordpress templates

Matty, there is nothing wierd or ugly about this. This is how all modern Web 2.0 websites load, so you should be proud of this. Nobody wants old style websites where a page loads for long time and then finally shows up. You are looking at a Lamborghini and complaining that the door opens up instead of to the side like in Hyundai.
