The glaring missing feature here is editing in Dreamweaver. Although possible templates produced by artisteer are incredibly slow.

There are several editors that can handle the code output by Artisteer. There are threads as to who has used which and which ones work best with Artisteer.

Any tips on which ones? searching forum and haven't run across yet.

It's a shame that this nice tool doesn't work with the #1 commercial HTML editor. I use Dreamweaver for just about everything - it's my main web dev tool.

Am I missing something? I'm editing Artisteer templates in DW as we speak.

It is a big Artisteer problem.

I use Dreamweaver and Fireworks (Studio 8) on my 20+ websites. Artisteer templates are the only ones that cause this problem. I've worked with other templates before and never had a problem. My system is a fairly new gaming rig with good performance.

Opening an exported Artisteer page takes 30-60 seconds in Dreamweaver. I could almost 'live with it' but trying to make any changes (renaming a menu tab, etc) is next to impossible. Dreamweaver freezes up completely for over 45-120 seconds. It's such a pain.

I've seen the recommendations for QuickerSite and HTMLPad. Come on, are you really asking DW users to trade down from an advanced and seamless Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash integration suite? :-@

I think Artisteer is a great tool but it's pretty useless for me right now.

On the other hand, one of Artisteer's great strength is the export functionality to WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, etc. Surely, this bright team can integrate a function to export directly as a (working) Dreamweaver template? Talk about increasing your market share :-)

I had to end up using Microsoft Expression Web...then realized it is pretty good in comparison to CS4 DW - less features but faster and stable and easy to use
