Let's take a look at what is being created. Post the site(s) you've created with artisteer here. I'd love to see what others are doing.

Here's a few of mine:

www.elitetaekwondo.org
www.freedomtodine.com

Artisteer can never make templates like that (for joomla for example)

No other program can create a template like that either!

However, you can take a core Artisteer template that you have colorizeds and arranged the way you want and "ADD" the various module positions with accompanying CSS to a Joomla install.

Afterall, are not all templates in Joomla simply a massaging of modules and CSS? Its not a secret process.

An Artisteer generated template can be used as a foundation for any kind of Joomla site and be modified on an unlimited basis and all the third party extensions added for a desired end result.

A template is a template is a template, by any other name (and/or developer).

FYI. The Artisteers Users Group will have a "showcase" area on their website in the very near future.

Artisteer is not intended to create a template like that.
There are lots of these template creators around, who create very nice templates with tons of features, that I dont think are used at all.

You can still create the overall useable layout with artisteer and then program the rest in notepad/dreamweaver whatever.

Also its a great way to quickly get some ideas shown to a customer!.

The articles are the blog. Its nothing tricky. Just go into settings > reading within wordpress and change the homepage to be a static page and the blog page can be any other page you want.

This is my final version for the church I attend. I have gotten VERY positive feedback about it. It's stock Artisteer with some simple php tweaks and a few WordPress plugins.

(I personally don't care for the music auto-playing upon load, but the Pastor loves it, so....) :-/

Jim Barr, that is a great example of a well-designed and implemented Artisteer theme. My website at webstylee.com partly focuses on church websites, so I found your design especially interesting. The 3-column layout works perfectly with your content and hopefully you won't mind my copying that idea.

Peace in Christ,
David

Bill, just a note, there's 2 "and"' s under the PC Firemen title and the taekwando site's menu gets shoved down to the bottom, in firefox anyway.
Have you changed the Dover MA header i'm sure it was different before, nice anyway.

I love both of these templates! One question..... How did you make the two columns at the bottom of the pages in the center column? Did you do that in Artisteer or did you have to code that in after you made the template. I think that is pretty cool....... like 4 columns at the bottom of the page. I like it.

ALL ARTISTEER, Used articles-styling-Content shape. The Content is 3 front page articles with styling shape it surrounds the articles. As many front page articles you use they will be styled this way. You can then change the fill color as well, pretty cool. Both are done using Joomla Templates.

Absolutely true -- I would never think of using a template from ANY source that didn't have some of my own mods in it -- the beauty of Artisteer is being able to visualize the design *as you create it*, having the code generated for you, because lord knows that is some COMPLICATED! php/css, even to those who understand it -- and it's great being able to try it out before buying -- I'm still using a trial version, though with the features offered in the newest RC, I plan on purchasing this baby soon, I'm thinking, this weekend -- but all these were made with the trial version, and the graphics *quite painstakingly* recreated in PhotoShop --

http://crypticsites.com/templatedemo/?template=carmandria
http://crypticsites.com/templatedemo/?template=crypticgray01
http://crypticsites.com/templatedemo/?template=mintcreme
http://crypticsites.com/templatedemo/?template=norwegianwood

and last but far from least --

http://crypticsites.biz/templatedesign/
-- I like this one the best, because I decided to give the params.ini a go (joomla 1.5), and set it up so you can choose the background color in the backend, darkest grey or dark red to show thru the .png filigree -- granted, a simple addition, and quite easy to setup, once I got hold of a good tutorial on the subject. But it's just another example of why some modifications are usually desirable or even necessary before putting a given template "out there".

Of course, having to manually recreate all the graphics means that a design takes days rather than hours, and I have 20 yrs photoediting experience! Hence my interest in purchasing the "real" version, to save unbelievable amounts of time.

Very well done Andria. I'm using GIMP since I can't quite afford Photoshop just yet, but I'm doing something similar in designing numerous templates and making them viewable via the CMS installations on my site at http://webstylee.com.

The crazy thing is that Artisteer outputs templates for the 3 big CMS's. That is one huge task. On my site, I've setup installations of Wordpress, Joomla and Drupal and I have available all the same templates for each of them, all developed using Artisteer with minor edits made in GIMP and using Notepad++ for code edits.

One of my favorites, though a bit on the girly side:
http://webstylee.com/joomlathemes/?template=NatureStyleeJoomla

Then a more recent theme:
http://webstylee.com/joomlathemes/?template=BogStyleeJoomla

And of course, I'll be putting out a lot of fun and interesting themes:
http://webstylee.com/joomlathemes/?template=LCDStyleeJoomla

Needless to say, I purchased the pro version of the software only a day after I first found out about it, which would be roughly 2 weeks ago. I've not found more use in any purchased piece of software I can recall.
