I have been creating templates for Joomla 1.5.9 with the BETA of Artisteer with good success. I recently replaced the BETA version with the full release v.2.0.2.15338.

I have tried migrating my old templates, and completely remaking them from scratch, and in both cases, they refuse to work in my Joomla installations. Instead, once installed on the sites, they look as if there is no CSS at all. Check out www.semperfidrums.com for an example of what I mean.

I have tried moving mixing and matching the templates across multiple sites, and in every case, the templates created with the final version fail, and the BETA version works. Perhaps I am overlooking something? What other information or files do you need?

Actually, I just figured out what was going on. I use Artisteer in a virtualization in Linux, and it was a permissions issue. When I was moving my templates from my Windows virtualization into Linux, the permissions were getting set to 600 on the files, which translated onto my servers as well.

The reason the old templates were working is because I sent them straight from my virtualization instead. As for keeping them zipped and installing them from the Joomla backend, this doesn't seem to work for me in either the BETA or new stable versions... not sure why. I get a 'JFTP::write: Bad response' every time.

Anyhow, thanks for listening to me talk to myself. ;)
