Aristeer generated template slow loading

I don't know which section to post this in but I would like to get feedback from you guys and hopefully Aristeer employees so they can address the problem, if it in fact is a problem or if it's me doing something wrong.

I generated a template from Aristeer version 2. I opened the generated file in Microsoft Expressions Web 2 and it loads very slow. That is after spending hours cleaning it up and fixing it. It looks pretty but I don't like how slow it loads and how messy the code is.

As a test, I generated a simple one from scratch using Expressions Web 2. It's not as pretty but it loads right away and I didn't have to spend hours fixing it.

I really like Aristeer generated templates but if I have to fix everything and it loads so slow, I'll probably junk my copy of Aristeer.

Thanks in advance

Both sites seemed to have loaded OK when I viewed them.

What did you mean by "fixing" the Artisteer template?

/test (blue background) loads everything in about a second. /test1 seems to load in sections where it shows the text first and graphics first and then a second later it draws the border and background. It actually loads better in Mozilla. Try Internet Explorer and you'll see it.

The code (especially the style) has a lot of junk and I have to fix it after I opened the template in Expression Web. They styles.css file that was generated by Artisteer is 27K and the style.css file generated by Expression Web is only 2K.

I agree, it does seem to be loading slowly. It took over thirty seconds to load for me on DSL connection.

Try validating your code: http://validator.w3.org/
(For the price, everything should be pre-validated)

Try using http://www.websiteoptimization.com/services/analyze/ to see what exactly is causing the problem (image size versus actual code)

The CSS generated by Artisteer is much more complex than the ones generated by Microsoft Expressions

Since you comment on how "nice" the Artisteer template looks, maybe the reason it looks so much better is because the CSS is more involved.

I wouldn't use MS Expressions to edit the code that Artisteer creates. What purpose does that serve? Use TextPad or HTMLPad to edit the code if you want, they both work fine. Others report using CoffeeCup works well too.

Luis D,
the page http://www.suprahat.com/test1 utilizes the "fixed" style.css, right? Is it possible to check a page which is using not modified style.css produced by Artisteer?

I like Expressions because you can create a master template and when you make changes to 1 file it updates the other pages/files as well. Believe it or not, I just use Notepad to edit my codes.

Yes, it uses a fixed style, here the unedited Artisteer generated page. http://suprahat.com/test2/page.html
