If I'm not mistaken, the code for page.php and single.php should be different from each other. The page.php should not have the post meta information. Since I've upgraded to the recent Beta Version, the page.php and single.php are coded the same.
I believe this is a bug.

To explain a little better, I had to edit page.php and remove the code for the post metadata in order for it to NOT appear on "pages". This would include the date, categories, etc.
