CSS issues

I was wondering whether or not the Artisteer developers are planning to fix the obviously rampant CSS issues that alot of Artisteer1.0 users seem to be having as far as validation. I myself just tried to validate a trial theme and received a total of 107 errors per W3C standards. I understand that there are even alot of bigtime sites that don't validate 100% but 107 is alot. Anyway, are the developers planning to tackle this issue in Artisteer 2.0?

Hi Rod,

What kind of errors do you get? Maybe they are mostly related to IE6 hacks?
Can you provide a link to the page you check?

Thanks,
Caroline.

2.0 fixes this, no more CSS expressions!

Hi Rod,

Thank you for the link.

As I supposed, the validation errors are caused by IE6 hacks used in the style.css file. Wait for Artisteer 2, or try the Beta 2 version. There are two separate .css files generated:

style.css and
style.ie6.css

So such problem does not occur any more.

Caroline.

Thank you for checking my theme. Would you be so kind as to tell me exactly what to look for as far as IE6 hacks. I am hoping to be able to learn a great deal more about CSS with Artisteer.

All you have to do is look at thwe errors generated and they will show you the lines fo the CSS that is either related to Microsoft Expressions code or the hacks to accomodate IE 6 shortfalls.

You can also look at the CSS generated in the beta version for the two different files and see what the diffrerences are.

I really do appreciate you guys taking the time to answer my questions, as trivial as they may seem to those with more experience than myself. I realize that I have a great deal to learn, but I am more than eager to learn all that I can and with the help of willing professionals such as yourselves I have no doubt that it will be much easier than without. I guess the only way to keep what you have, no matter what it is, is by sharing it with others. And who knows, I may be helping others in no time. This is an awesome forum.
