I've got the standard edition demo and I've created a test theme. When I try to export it to my Wordpress themes directory, nothing is exported except an images folder.

Paula,
do you get any error while exporting the Theme?
Have you reported this issue to Artisteer support?

Me too - I get loads of image files, not a WordPress template. Is this just the demo version - or what?

How does one go about "reporting an issue to Artisteer"?

Hello Janet,

As far as I know, the demo version does not have any restrictions except for the Trial watermarks added to the generated theme.

You can contact Artisteer support using this email address:

Be sure you have named and saved an ARTX file (Artisteer's native file format)

Be sure you aren't using any special characters in name.

Be sure you export the files to a directory that you create and know is empty. Don't try to directly export your server or overwrite another theme. Always save them into a new blank folder. (This is more to eliminate errors and make sure you see what is created).

Be sure to choose the correct "export" method.

Once the theme is exported to the floder, you should have a number of PHP files, CSS files and an images folder.

My problem isn't that I can't get the PHP files with Export in the trial version. I can. My problem is when I upload the theme to WPMU and try to modify it to see if my custom sidebar will integrate into Artisteer's code (before I decide to buy *wink wink*). After a particularly drastic modification which should show LOTS of changes to the theme, it still looks like the first time I imported it. I've cleared the cache and hit refresh a zillion times, but it looks the same no matter what I do to the poor PHP files. Even if I deliberately introduce a snippet of code that causes an error, I don't see an error. It's almost like I'm looking at an image rather than the output of a script.

Does the Trial version do some kind of hocus pocus I don't know about that makes it impossible to see changes to PHP files after uploading?

It does not, no hocus pocus.

However, permissions need to be set on your web server so that you can directly modify the files... and I'm not sure if the administrator for Wordpress MU needs to set additional permissions to allow youto modify a theme. As I recall, Wordpress MU is locked down pretty tight for stuff like that.
