ARTX Files and Yahoo Mail

This might sound silly... I've recently tried to send an ARTX file using GMail, but the receiver (using Yahoo Mail) was not able to download the file due to a prompt like the following:

Virus detected
The attachment you are trying to download contains a virus and it can not be cleaned.
file.artx (12KB)

Does anyone knows what the problem might be?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Dani

Probably doesn't recognize the extension of the file and flags it as a virus. You might want to try zipping the file and then sending it.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Or rename the extension into .txt

I wasn't looking for an workaround, but just an explanation. The explanation is simple: the ARTX file is actually a ZIP file containing an XML. Yahoo Mail is a little bit dumb.

Thanks to all.
