Can't get Color & Fonts to work

Hi,

Overall, I like this tool and have created several quick templates in situations where I don't care about the color combinations.

However, I'm now trying to somewhat match the color scheme of an existing site so that I can add a WP blog. I can't figure out what's going on with the "Color & Fonts" section. I can select a theme which changes the colors, but when I try to manually dial them in, virtually nothing changes... eg, if I adjust the left most square, it somewhat changes the hue of the boarders and text for side panels... I can't seem to change the color of the text or the background color of the sheet.... very much. if i make a radical change to the the right box, the text color very slightly changes.

I know the color codes and would like to be able to specify them.

Any tips appreciated.

Stephen

ps: is there a chance of adding a "search" for the forums?

Many of the colors can be adjusted precisely by putting in the hex code. You will need to locate the properties within each element that allows you to choose colors for backgrounds, text, hovered text, etc etc, but it can be done.

Hi Marc,

I appreciate your time in replying.

I already have the hex codes and that's what I'm trying to set. The problem is primarily understanding what parts of artister correspond to the visual fields. Eg, there's zero explanation about what the left middle and right squares correspond to. And, once setting them, the colors they affect are only partially affected... ie, apply royal blue and the result is aqua... it did [something] but it didn't set the color the what i was trying to match.

It's as though the program is blending the input color with some other color...

I'd like to select a button or text or header and be able to know "this is the color" for what I'm touching... as is, it's just experiment, play around, hope to get lucky by adjusting parameters... get one color set, then start on the other and it messes up the original...

Any other thoughts appreciated.

Stephen

Along the top of Artisteer are all the elements, such as sheet, block, header, etc.

Click on one of those, and you will see sub elements that go into those areas, such as lines, borders, text choices and color options.

http://www.artisteer.com/media/p4/files/Artisteer%20User%20Manual.pdf

The manual explains how to change colors for the different elements. You have to use the different 'component' areas to make changes specific to those areas.

I ran into the same problems.

On one export I had changed my link text color to 3 alternates and the colors exported were what was originally there even though the program itself showed the change I had made in Artisteer.

One would expect if you designated #ff0000 for your hover that is what you would get.

It looks like Artisteer is aware of some of these issues and will fix them with the next upgrade.
