Sorry I accidentally put this post in the wrong section - here it is again!

trying to figure out 2 things:

1- how would I add a logo up top like they've done in the Artisteer template?

2- how would you create the colored side bar menu seen in the Artisteer template?

I'm assuming they used their great tool to make their own template, right :)

You wouldn't create the sidebar in Artisteer, as it doesn't support creating the menu in the vertical sidebar, however you can create a horizontal menu and convert it to a vertical one by editing the CSS and PHP files.

The logo is easily added using Artisteer. Create a PNG, import it via the foreground image section of the header area. You can reposition it anywhere you want.

Hello Marc thanks for your reply.

I'm not using a header - http://www.homeschoolspanishonline.com - but that's OK, I can easily place the logo above the sheet via CSS.

I've been doing web design for over 10 years now and this is the greatest thing I've ever seen. Almost scary, could put web designers out of business! And this is just 1.0 right? I imagine this tool (and company) has a really bright future.

Stacey,

I love the product too, it's just one of the tools in an arsenal that web designers and programmers can now use to simply their jobs.

I'm not worried about it putting me or other designers out of business as there is so much else you can do with the product after that fact... that part keeps my work and designs separate from the casual user.

Nah I agree - there is so much to be done even after the design. I hope they include vertical menus in the future - I'm sure I can do that via another way, but would be nice to have it included right off the bat. I sat down with a client/friend yesterday and we were able to kick out a top notch design in less than 10 minutes with this - that is mind boggling! Since I'm doing her site for free normally I'd be dreading the design part.
